Compilable procedures

Gestan allows you to dynamically compile and execute procedures. These procedures are carried out by the ICS-Informatique technical service, at the request of any customer.

This allows you to quickly perform a specific data extraction, or a special mass update, for example:

• extract the list of companies without any attached contact, in spreadsheet format
• extract the list of first purchases from each contact, in spreadsheet format
• delete any contact between two ID terminals if no other record is linked to the contact to be deleted
• etc.

Prerequisites: Have activated the privilege Execute a procedure in the user privileges sheet.

Access: Tools → Execute a procedure.

On this screen, use the Open button to select the procedure file (.prc extension file) to execute, which will have been sent to you by the ICS technical service.

Depending on the procedure, a certain number of parameters may be entered.

The Run button starts dynamic compilation and execution of the procedure.

Examples made by technical support:

• Extraction of the list of companies to which no contact is attached.
• Extract the list of very first purchases from contacts.
• Export of addresses to spreadsheet. The procedure allows you to select the desired type of address (professional, personal, invoicing, delivery, other)
• Export of the product list, with German translations
• Data extraction for tax audit
• Updating supplier balances
• etc., etc.
